"PROBLEMS of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases" is a peer-reviewed open-access medical journal of scientific papers covering laboratory research data on human infectious diseases as well as its application for elucidation and management of epidemic processes.

It is published by National Centre of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases in English, with periodicity of three issues annually, in a print and digital version.

The journal received international acclaim and since 1997 has established itself as referenced edition in Exerpta Medica.

Its aim is to extend and share results of intensive research on the etiopathogenesis, immune mechanisms, epidemiology, laboratory diagnostics, treatment and immunoprophylaxis of bacterial and viral (nosocomial included) infections, and parasitic infestations. The journal is intended to be of interest to scientists, practitioners and researchers in the field of infectology.

PROBLEMS of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases is an open access journal since 2021-01-01 with all content available under BB-CY 4.0 license.

Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author, in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access and the BB-CY 4.0 license.

The materials selected for publication in PROBLEMS of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases are judged solely on their merits.

No fees are charged to the authors or readers of the journal.

The journal is entirely financed by the Bulgarian Ministry of Health.
